All dressed up!

As regular readers of our blog will know, alongside weddings and conferences, we also host other events like school proms, photoshoots, filming and more.

So it was with great pleasure that, in late June, we welcomed pupils from Cheadle Academy for their Summer Prom. Always lots of fun and dancing, this year they really pushed the boat out with their fabulous outfits and costumes.

We want to wish them all the best of luck in the next chapters of their lives and have a great summer!

A School Visit to Remember

The Heath House is very much part of the local community and we were thrilled to welcome a group of year 6 leavers to The Heath House yesterday from the nearby Great Wood Community Primary School. The afternoon was an opportunity for us to share the history of the house and the Philips family and inspire them as they get ready for the next step in their school journey – High School in September.

After a tour of the house and gardens the children enjoyed some refreshments in the garden and a play with the the dogs – who were very keen not to miss out on the fun!

We received a lovely email from the school and loved the feedback, especially the brilliant summary that the afternoon had been “…a true memory maker…”

Thank you to Ben Adamson and all the staff who do such an amazing job and we wish you all the best for September!

Out with the old, and in with the new….

The refurbishment continues with replacing the old water tanks in the roof. Not an easy job when they have to be carried up 3 flights of stairs! The photos give some idea of the size of roof space above the bedrooms below.

At last, Heath House gets its own water meter!

This is big news for us….after years of trying with Severn Trent, we have finally got our own water meter so we can see what we’re actually using. Persistence pays off in the end!

The Sound of Music comes to Heath House with an Advent Harp Recital!

We had a super time with Derwent Harps here on Saturday evening. Nearly 100 people were treated to a smorgasbord of musical delights with hot mulled punch and mince pies in the interval. There was also a raffle and a Harp for the lucky winner. Good luck to all the students in their studies and we hope to see you again soon.

The Heath House Open Day, What A Success!

A great day at The Heath House, the open day was a huge success on Sunday 29th March 2015 huge thanks to all involved.

The Heath House provides a magnificent country house venue for weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions. The inner hall and grand staircase provide the perfect photo opportunity for any bride as she makes her way down to the assembled guests below. The grand drawing room and dining room with their original features, paintings and extensive views to the south and west and across the park and woods to the north, provide the perfect backdrop to any civil ceremony or wedding reception. Outside, the house is set in 127 acres of rolling parkland with delightful formal gardens and a glorious Regency Orangery that can be used for Civil Ceremonies or as a stunning backdrop to any wedding photograph’s.

The Arcade is the hall way at Heath House leading from the main hall to the office and the downstairs loo.

Michael Johnson (not the sprinter although he does paint very fast!) and family have decorated and brightened

the hallway. We are delighted!
