“Friends of The Heath House” has been launched with a volunteer programme that supports the maintenance and renovation of The Heath House, its estate and the formal gardens. The current project is the restoration of the Edwardian Rock Garden. Anyone can volunteer for an occasional hour or two of assistance, or regular participation in the programme. Go to the FOHH website for more information, and contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator to join in or subscribe to the free quarterly newsletter.
There’s something about the traditional English cream tea that is simply irresistible. Visitor numbers to our Open Days have doubled since we started offering simple refreshments to visitors. For just £4 per person, you can enjoy a cream tea or cakes and sandwiches in the dining room, or outdoors on the terrace if the weather permits. More substantial fare is available for group tours, details on request.
The Country House Rescue episode featuring The Heath House has now been shown on TV in New Zealand. We received messages of interest and support from lots of ex-pats and look forward to welcoming more antipodean visitors over the coming months. The Heath House website has been visited by people from 59 countries, with visitors from the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia taking a specially keen interest.
